ganymedesrocks:salomeafan:Julius Kronberg - ErosJulius Kronberg (1850 – 1921) wasa Swedish painter who received his education at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm in the 1860s.  Even though he certainly has not reached as solid a path to fame than Anders Zorn, who he is contemporary to.  Even though, his work, characterized with imaginative subjects and very stylistically built, got associated with the Düsseldorf School of painting, he remained very much a Swedish artist who became a professor at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts between 1895-1898.  His impressive floor-to-ceiling painting of Eros, featured as cover art for ABBA’s album The Visitors, although not his most celebrated work is well illustrative of this painter’s skills.
